The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Project Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on a project to develop novel microfluidics and organ-on-chip platforms
Perform research related to extracellular vesicles and exosomal RNA-based diagnostics
Perform in vitro drug testing using microfluidics and in-vitro assays
Fabrication and validation of microfluidic devices using cell lines, blood and clinical samples
Supporting general laboratory administration duties (equipment maintenance, housekeeping and procurement)
Job Requirements:
A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a relevant Biological or Engineering discipline
Experiences in microfluidics and extracellular vesicles
Experiences in microfabrication and engineering drawing (e.g. AutoCAD)
Experiences in basic cell and molecular biology techniques (mammalian cell culture, PCR, RT-PCR and ELISA), microscopy and flow cytometry
Experiences in immunology or blood sample preparation is an advantage
Fresh graduates will also be considered.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Publication track record is an advantage
