The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Project Officer.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work on a project to develop novel microfluidics and organ-on-chip platforms

  • Perform research related to extracellular vesicles and exosomal RNA-based diagnostics

  • Perform in vitro drug testing using microfluidics and in-vitro assays

  • Fabrication and validation of microfluidic devices using cell lines, blood and clinical samples

  • Supporting general laboratory administration duties (equipment maintenance, housekeeping and procurement)

Job Requirements: 

  • A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a relevant Biological or Engineering discipline

  • Experiences in microfluidics and extracellular vesicles

  • Experiences in microfabrication and engineering drawing (e.g. AutoCAD)

  • Experiences in basic cell and molecular biology techniques (mammalian cell culture, PCR, RT-PCR and ELISA), microscopy and flow cytometry

  • Experiences in immunology or blood sample preparation is an advantage

  • Fresh graduates will also be considered.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Publication track record is an advantage
