A Project Officer position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS).

RNA therapeutics including antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) and splice-switching oligonucleotides (SSOs) hold great promise towards treatment of genetically defined diseases. As they operate on the basis of the genetic code, RNA therapeutics are highly precise. However, to date there is no assertive rule that could facilitate the selection of effective ASO and SSO sequences.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take part in developing deep learning models towards prediction of highly effective sequences based on high-throughput experimentation as well as design and validation of ASO and SSO sequences on cell line models. Successful implementation of such a predictive approach will tremendously accelerate drug development efforts towards RNA therapeutics.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Mathematics and/or Physics, with the preference to those who have knowledge in both Mathematics and Physics, and especially those who have experience postgraduate (e.g. PhD) training.
