School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) is looking for Project Officer to support several projects targeted for the development of materials for the application in sporting goods.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for materials characterization, testing properties of developed composites, writing reports, preparation of samples/foams/coatings based on the project requirement.

  • Preparation of 10-15 samples/composites with non-newtonian liquids per month. Synthesis and fabrication of non-newtonian liquid if necessary

  • Characterization of properties of composite samples: DSC, impact test, instron test, TGA, FTIR.

  • Preparation hydrophobic samples based on cellulose materials

  • Characterization of properties of hydrophobic prepared materials  -contact angle, moisture uptake, SEM, FTIR, Instron

  • Development of composite/foams for the application in sport protective equipment.

  • Writing reports

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor in Materials Science;

  • Experience in work with non-newtonian liquids;

  • Ability to work in wet lab, making simple synthesis and transformation of materials in fume hood.

  • Knowledge of analytical equipment and testers for characterization of chemical and physical properties of materials

  • Good communication skills (English)

  • Familiar with analytical equipment and testers to characterize properties of materials and composite (such as DSC, TGA, DMA, SEM, FTIR, Instron etc)

  • Have skills working with material, solvents in wet lab and fume hood. He/she should know general methods of organic inorganic synthesis and be able to work with chemical glassware

  • Knowledge and expertise in work with cellulose, non-newtonian liquids would be desirable Knowledge of processes of surfaces/fibers/films hydrophobization is a plus.
