Project Officer (Computer Engineering/Computer Science & Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering)

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) invites applications for the position of Project Officer. 

The Project Officer’s scope of work would include developing a localization and navigation system for autonomous mobile robot. The project officer is expected to undertake original research and has opportunities to collaborate with industry and top researchers around the world. The appointment is normally for a period of one year with a provision for further extensions subject to good performance.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Collect datasets for in-lab testing of visual localization and navigation algorithms.

• Implement and accelerate the localization and navigation algorithms on embedded platform.

• Integrate multiple sensors to the autonomous mobile robot.

• Field-trial the autonomous mobile robot.

Job Requirements: 

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science And Engineering, Electrical And Electronics Engineering, Electronics And Telecommunication Engineering, or related disciplines;

• Solid background in embedded systems for robots;

• Strong experience in designing and accelerating algorithms for embedded systems;

• At least 1 year of experience in the relevant field.
