We are looking for a talented postdoc in the area of microfabrication with an emphasis on biopolymers. The candidate must have experience in the area of microfabrication, MEMs, physics, biochemistry, bio-composites, or related discipline. Advanced skills in the areas of microfabrication (e.g., soft lithography, photolithography) and molecular and supramolecular characterization (e.g., FT-IR, SEM) are required. Additional skills in organic chemistry, molecular and optical characterization, animal physiology, and molecular.

The candidate is expected to work towards independence by building a good publication record, supervising students, and collaborating with other teams to assimilate natural molecules and composites in manufacturing strategies.

Candidates will be part of a young and vibrant environment and are expected to cooperate in a multidisciplinary team to conduct cutting-edge research. At the Bioinspired & Integrative Science Lab, you will develop as a scientist and produce science at the highest level while tackling critical global problems. Our lab understands science and technology as tools to build a better world, being our research’s societal impact the primary driver of our work. For example, in the last year alone, we have developed the first generalizable route to circular manufacturing in cities (by linking additive manufacturing with waste management). Produced chips to understand and predict breast cancer development . We have developed materials and production models for extraplanetary colonization . And “forced” a population of stem cells to become beating heart cells using a 3D printer. As the forefront lab of several emerging fields, you will have the opportunity to become the leader of your line of research.
