Nanyang Centre for Public Administration invites applications for part-time teaching of the following course at the intermediate level:

  • Policy Formulation and Implementation in China

Requirements:

  • PhD in relevant field
  • Teaching experience at a tertiary level or with adult learners and excellent teaching evaluation
  • Knowledge in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of public policy in contemporary China and experience with multimedia course materials

Teaching Requirement:

Duration: 3 hours per week for 13 sessions.

Course Objectives:

  • Students should be taught how to analyse the process involved in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of public policies in contemporary China.
  • Examples from the following policies areas should be discussed and evaluated:
    • Economic and fiscal policy, industrial policy: social welfare policy: population policy; science and technology policy; agriculture policy and environment policy, etc.

Teaching Outcome:

  • Students should be able to examine the key political variables that shape policy making and administrative reform in contemporary China.
