Part-Time Lecturer for Interactive Design

The School of Art, Design, and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as Part-time Lecturer for Interactive Design: DM 5000 Creative Robotics Course

This course is structured around the principles of designing, building, and controlling robots, with a significant emphasis on practical experience through prototyping, mechanical design, and actuator controls. Aimed at providing students with a foundational understanding of robotics, the curriculum covers the theoretical aspects of robot design and the application of these concepts through laboratory exercises and project work.

The course is designed to foster an environment of innovation and problem-solving, encouraging students to experiment with mechanical components and control systems to achieve desired functionalities.

By the end of the course, students are expected to have a solid understanding of the basics of robotics, including the mechanics of movement, the integration of sensors and actuators, and the programming of control algorithms. This course serves as a foundational steppingstone for those interested in pursuing further studies or careers in robotics and related fields.

Successful candidates will have a Master's and/or Ph.D. in Interaction Design/ Media or a related field of study. Any past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design/ Art, Creative Technologies or Computer Science with sufficient and relevant industry experience may also be considered in exceptional cases.
