Part-Time Lecturer for Foundation Drawing DN1001

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as a Part-Time Lecturer in Foundation Drawing. The part-time position is for an undergraduate core course commencing in August 2023.

This 13-week course introduces students to the basic elements and principles of Drawing, and its possibilities and relevance across art, media, and design.  This  will include discussing the relevance of drawing to the various disciplines that ADM students will later focus on such as Film, amination, graphic design, product design, photography, game, interactive design etc.  Basic elements of figurative Structure with Basic Anatomy, Space Construction, Design Principles, Concept of Chiaroscuro, Tonal Design and Introduction to Drawing Materials are all included in the course. Candidate must have strong representational image composition skills and good sketching ability.

Successful candidates should have a Masters and/or PhD in a relevant field, track record of exhibitions, and past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level.

Preference will be given to candidates having an active artistic and design practice that demonstrates a combination of traditional and current approach to fine art and graphic art production, experimentation and critical analysis across the spectrum of medium, from the traditional print to digital printed page to the Internet.
