Manager, Graduate Studies Career Development Office

The position holder will be a key component of the department’s (Graduate Studies Career Development Office, GSCDO) mission, which is the ability to provide world-class career services to post-graduate students in helping them find the ideal job after graduation.

The role has a primary focus in China market. Reporting to both the Assistant Dean (Career Services) and the sector lead for China market within GSCDO, the position holder is expected to assist the sector lead in delivering GSCDO’s China market strategy:

a) Further expand employment engagement in China market;

b) Enrich student engagement consistently across all NBS master’s programs;

c) Enhance NBS presence among employers and students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the China market sector lead in delivering NBS’s China strategy.

  • Drive all activities under the effective employer engagement model.

  • Develop relationship with employers in China based on employer engagement plan.

  • Maintain database covering all NBS graduate studies students seeking jobs in China.

  • Manage the organization of events, meetings and coaching sessions with employers and students.

  • Manage social media account (WeChat) for GSCDO facing internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare the employment analysis report for Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions Team.

  • Responsible for China market administration & operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, in any discipline

  • Relevant experience of between 5 – 7 years

  • Good understanding of the China job market

  • Experience with business development including internal and external successful collaboration

  • Excellent skill in social media strategy development, content management and platform administration (especially WeChat)

  • Ability to organize and coordinate events and meetings with internal and external stakeholders

  • Data analysis, processing, and reporting

  • Coaching experience is ideal

  • Ability to interact with people of varying levels and backgrounds

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability in working with people from diverse and multicultural backgrounds

  • Possess initiative, able to work as a team player

  • Meticulous with an eye for detail

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Incumbent must be proficient in written and spoken Chinese as the is required because he/she needs to correspond with Chinese Employers in China.
