Job Description

Job Purpose 

This position reports to Head, Student Leadership and Development, Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and interfaces with staff of the section. SLD looks after the governance of student organisations as well as the development of student leaders.
 
The candidate will play a leading role in the development and administration of the Teach Singapore project as well as advisory to NUS Student Organisations. Candidate should possess a passion in helping the less fortunate and a strong can-do attitude. The candidate will also play a key role in advising the Community Service Club and the NUS Volunteering Network.
 

Duties & Responsibilities 
1.    Provide strategic oversight of Teach Singapore programme to achieve the objectives of engaging NUS students as mentors to children and youth from low-income families through academic coaching and mentoring. To build and maintain relationships with MOE Uplift Programme Office and other community partners from Social Service Agencies (SSA) to have onboard children and youth as mentees for the programme. 
2.    Data collection and analysis for outcome measurement reporting.
3.    Coordinate all other Teach Singapore matters including partnership, events organisation, etc. 
4.    To supervise events and projects organised by NUS Student Organisations. 
5.    Oversee, advise, enable and equip Staff Advisors of Faculty Clubs.
6.    To plan, organise and support projects and event by the Student Leadership & Development Section.
7.    Provide regular verbal and written updates and recommendations to the section head on matters of policies, guidelines, procedures and processes.
8.    Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications

1.     A good degree.
2.    A proven track record of at least 8 years in the student/youth development/community sector.
3.    Excellent team worker with ability to negotiate and compromise whilst taking into account the view of others.
4.    Highly-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
5.    Ability to multi-task and deliver against a number of priorities.
6.    Possess good people and event management skills, as well as effective writing acumen.
7.    Proficient in networking with both internal and external stakeholders.
8.    Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and design software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator would be an added advantage)
9.    Strong administrative and communication skills.
