Management Assistant Officer, Department of Mathematics (2 year contract, renewable)

The incumbent will provide support to the MSc in Quantitative Finance (MQF) Programme at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1) Admission for the MQF Programmes

• Process and manage the applications.
• Prepare the admission template and documents required by the graduate programme committee to review the applications.
• Man the role-based email accounts and attend to the enquiries.
• Facilitate the selection process such as arranging test and interviews.
• Facilitate student matriculation process and help organize programme orientation.

2) Timetabling and module registration

• Assist in the preparation of timetabling and module registration.
• Act as the contact point for students for all module registration matters.
• Assist in appeal and module requests from own and other Departments.

3) Exam matters

• Assist in the administration of exam end-to-end.
• Act as the anchor person for exam processing including graduation check.

4) Student finance matters

• Maintain tuition fee table and update Finance office on tuition fee charging.
• Monitor student fee payment progress and follow up on outstanding fees.

5) Assist in the activities and events by Centre for Quantitative Finance and other duties/areas as assigned by the Department/Centre.

• Polytechnic diploma with 2-3 years of relevant working experience.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Service oriented with ability to multi-task and undertake challenges.
• Proactive and able to work independently. 
• Meticulous and has a positive work attitude.
