Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Linguistics and Multilingual Studies

The School of Humanities invites suitable candidates to apply for a faculty position in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies (LMS) at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer.

Requirements

Candidates who have the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

  • PhD in linguistics: PhD in hand at the time of application, with a specialisation in cognitive linguistics, psycholinguistics or cognate areas of linguistics.
  • Teaching experience: Previous experience in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Experience of teaching quantitative research methods and statistics for linguistics will be an advantage, as will experience in supervising honours students.
  • Research Portfolio: A record of research and publications in cognitive linguistics, psycholinguistics or cognate areas of linguistics.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Preparedness to contribute to curriculum development: Preparedness to develop new courses that complement current offerings in LMS.

Remuneration

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
