Job Description

Yale-NUS College is a highly selective liberal arts and science college in Singapore. Co-founded by Yale University and the National University of Singapore, the College is committed to excellence in research and teaching within a full residential programme that integrates living and learning. Its curriculum educates students in Asian and Western intellectual traditions as well as current scientific thought.

The College seeks to hire one full-time Lecturer in Environmental Studies. We seek teacher-scholars in the environmental social sciences, with a strong preference for candidates with demonstrated undergraduate teaching experience in environmental studies or associated programmes, and expertise in the environmental humanities and/or environmental policy and policymaking (comparative and/or global). Demonstrated ability to staff the introductory gateway course in environmental studies is a significant plus. This position is on a fixed-term contract of up to three years, starting in Academic Year 2022-2023.

The successful candidate will teach at least five (5) courses per academic year. Courses typically cap at 20 students, with opportunities to offer some courses twice in any academic year. Advising students and other duties will also be required as needed.

Qualifications

PhD in a relevant field is required, with at least two (2) years of undergraduate teaching experience strongly preferred.
