Laboratory Technologist, Department of Medicine (1-year contract)

Job Purpose:

To provide support to the Principal Investigator and his team in terms of research, laboratory, and administrative needs

Duties & Responsibilities

• Sample collection and processing. Assist in samples selection and collection from clinics (internal and external) and laboratories.
• Perform simple molecular biology work. Perform bio-sample processing including separation, isolation, aliquoting and storage for blood components such as serum, plasma, blood clot and PBMC.
• Sample retrieval upon requests from researchers
• Care of tissue culture / primary cells and/or mice
• Assist with other routine lab works.
• Regular audit check for samples and their locations
• General lab housekeeping duties and support any lab projects that are required.
• Administrative research and safety documentations. Documents samples information by performing daily data entry into internal database system and Excel files.
• Take part in laboratory supplies purchasing and inventory.
• General laboratory maintenance and liaise with vendors for lab equipment preventive maintenance and repair.

• National ITE Certificate (Nitec) and above
• Experience working in laboratory and centrifuging processes
• Minimum 1 year working experience
