Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/education programmes, part-time and full-time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs of individuals.  All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency.

 

 

About the Role

 

To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our e-Learning & Technology Unit as an IT Business Analyst.

 

Reporting to the Vice-Dean (e-Learning & Technology), the successful candidate shall be responsible for evaluating the business needs of our continuing and lifelong learning initiatives, streamlining the processes and working with NUS IT to prototype and implement effective technological solutions. The ideal candidate should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult technical concepts to non- technical users.

 

This role is offered on a 3-year renewable contract basis; renewal is subject to satisfactory job performance. 

 

Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies. 

 

The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.
 

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

 

•    Participate in business processes and develop new streamlined processes to promote efficiency and productivity on multiple levels.
•    Work closely with stack holders to identify effective IT solutions to enable new business capabilities, automate business processes, and achieve business goals.
•    Determine, consolidate and develop user requirements for technical solutions.
•    Participate in IT projects as developers, assisting in user acceptance tests coordination, change management, data migration activities, user guide documentation, etc.
•    Coordinate amongst business teams on systems operations needs such as business configuration and business requests prioritization.
•    Provide training and day-to-day support to business users on usage of technical solutions.
•    Able to work within tight timeline and constraints.
 


Qualifications

 

Requirements:

 

Academic & Professional Certification
•    Diploma/Degree in any IT discipline with at least 2 years’ experience in IT development/business analysis
•    Strong English language proficiency is essential.

 

Experience & Attributes 
•    Excellent business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely. The ability to understand the questions that business is trying to answer is essential.
•    Experience with C#.Net/MVC is advantageous.
•    Results-driven, self-motivated and highly disciplined.
•    Strong team player with ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
•    Strong oral and written English language proficiency is essential.
