Job Description

 

AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

 

The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.

 

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Finance Manager to manage and improve our divisional operations and workflows. Duties and responsibilities of the role will include, but not limited to, payments, fixed assets, research grant expense reporting and generating statement of accounts for reconciliation.

 

The successful candidate should possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, highly meticulous, have a talent for finance and reconciliation, ability to multi-task, strong communication & interpersonal skills and an excellent team player.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support in day-to-day financial operations such as payments, invoicing, raising journals & fixed assets
  • Review and monitor all funds managed by AI Singapore in a timely manner to ensure overall fund availability
  • Assist in various financial monitoring and reviews such as outstanding debt, dormant accounts & grant compliance.
  • Communicate with various stakeholders, research teams, and coordinating & collating responses for reporting and budgeting purposes
  • Prepare periodic grant expense claim report for grantors and ensuring timely submission of reports when due.
  • Assist in preparing management reports for our Senior Management to review the financial performance of AI Singapore
  • Handle reconciliation of expenses and budget.
  • Ensure internal controls and financial procedures are in compliance with NUS financial policies & guidelines
  • Provide support in audit and checks whenever required
  • Responsible for closing of year-end accounts, statutory audit and tax filing whenever applicable
  • Any other administrative tasks or participate in projects & assignments whenever assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in accountancy, commerce, business administration, management, or other related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ISCA, ICAEW or CPA Australia would be an advantage
  • At least 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance.
  • Meticulous and excellent attention to details
  • Preferably with experience in SAP
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Excellent proficiency with standard office applications, especially MS Word & MS Excel.
  • Experience working with Universities and/or government agencies is a plus
