Social workers play a key role in providing casework management and intervention to these individuals and families. In order to help vulnerable individuals and families break out of the cycle of disadvantage to achieve better life outcomes, social workers must be prepared to help them develop financial capability and build assets. The Singapore Financial Capability and Asset Building (SG FCAB) Initiative was developed and will be rolled out to 300 social workers.

The appointee will manage the following duties:

1. SG FCAB Training Program under the SW CPE

  • Recruitment of social workers for training

  • Provide the needed information related to training (online and classroom) to trainees

  • Ensure set up of venue and needed logistics for the successful run of the training program

  • Pre and post training liaison with trainees on matters related to the training (registration, assessment, evaluation)

2. Organise Events (Seminars related to SG FCAB)

  • Procurement related to event logistics (i.e. facilities, catering, photo/videography, tokens of appreciation, collaterals)

  • Design and dissemination of event invitation and publicity related matters

  • Oversee registration and confirmation of event attendees (VIPs and guests)

  • Ensure proper set up and tear down on event-day

3. Management of SG FCAB Website

  • Liaise with vendor on maintenance of the website to complement classroom training

4. Administrative and finance-related duties

  • Maintain proper financial and administrative records of SG FCAB Training Program within SW CPE

  • Monitor and prepare the monthly expenses report of SG FCAB Training Program

  • Secretariat support (i.e. minute taking, booking of facilities, scheduling of meetings) during meetings (internal and with external stakeholders)

  • Contact for public enquiries related to SG FCAB Training Program (phone, email)

5. Research-related duties

  • Perform literature review for training curriculum refinement/update purposes, data collection, analysis (quantitative and qualitative), evaluation of pre- and post-training data and report writing

6. Any other duties assigned by the SW CPE Committee and the Department of Social Work, NUS.




  • Social Science Degree is preferred

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills

  • Basic knowledge in statistical software such as SPSS and Nvivo
