Executive/Senior Executive, Clinical Research Officer in the Health Screening Centre
Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for a full-time Executive/Senior Executive, Clinical Research Officer for the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study. This study is undertaken jointly by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London (www.healthforlife.sg ). It aims to profile the health and behaviour of people from the general Singapore population. The scope of the study is segmented into (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (e.g. anthropometry, grip strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) investigating biomarkers for chronic diseases. We have just received funding for Phase 2 of the study and are expanding our team to allow the study to reach out to more people.
The Clinical Research Officer will play a key role in supporting the study, mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles:
Perform carotid ultrasonography, reading of the Carotid artery intima media thickness (CIMT) measurements based on a given protocol, reading the carotid plaque volume measurements.
Generate reports on the findings.
Assess and give suggestions to improve digital image/readings quality.
Keep inventory of digital imaging/readings supplies.
Being responsible for the general, daily running of the measurements at multiple sites.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation / records of study and investigator files.
Contribute to the production of research reports and/or publications.
Liaise with research colleagues and support staff internally as appropriate to the research and to develop appropriate external contacts and networks relevant to the project and to future funding opportunities.
Assist in co-ordination and organisation of meetings, seminars, lectures, talks and workshops and to attend and contribute to relevant meetings.
Ensure that responsibilities identified within internal processes such as Health and Safety guidelines, the study protocol, ICH and Singapore Guideline of Good Clinical Practice and LKCMedicine and NTU quality procedures and work instructions etc are robustly met. This would include all procedures required in the screening and follow-up activities.
Undertake any other duties relevant to the programme of research.
Training will be provided to level the skillsets needed to perform these roles.
Candidates should have:
Degree in Medical Technology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Science; Relevant Diploma / Degree in Nursing.
Basic computer skills.
Have an interest in research.
1 year of relevant experience in ultrasound and/or ophthalmic imaging would be advantageous. Training will be provided.
Excellent trouble shooting, organization skills, and problem solving skills are also required as well as the ability to work in a team environment. Be team-oriented.
Highly motivated, reliable and creative. Possess the ability to work independently and effectively with research details. Willing to learn new things.
Have strong organizational and effective communication skills.
Self-motivated and pro-active attitude.
