Job Description

Job Purpose To co-ordinate the external communications of East Asian Institute (EAI). Duties and Responsibilities Under the guidance of the director and in co-ordination with research staff and editorial staff, the communications executive will: 
- Assist in developing a communications strategy; 
- Manage a revamp of the website and EAI products; 
- Support staff in new media engagements; 
- Support staff in communicating with media and stakeholders of the institute; and 
- Help organise external events and support editorial staff in editing research outputs. 


Qualifications


- Experience in leading communications, preferably in a not-for-profit environment (university, research institute, think-tank, NGO or similar) is desirable though not necessary. 
- Experience in communications on policy issues is a plus. 
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field. 
- Proficient in the English language with strong writing and communication skills. Knowledge of Chinese is an advantage. 
- Good interpersonal communication skills and experience in working in teams is an advantage. 
- High energy and initiative is highly desirable.
