The Early Mental Potential & Wellbeing Research Centre’s mission is to maximise every child’s mental and emotional capital by uplifting neurodevelopmental trajectories during early sensitive periods through interdisciplinary discovery science and translational technologies.
Toward this aim, we engage in 3 major activities and thrusts: 
1) Core Discovery Research, Empowering Science : Basic neuroscience research and advanced computational models to understand individual neurocognitive potential, developmental trajectories, and risk and resilience factors;
 
2) Translation to Clinic & Pedagogy, Empowering Practitioners : Developing precision assessment and intervention tools to optimise parent-child social and mental health within clinical, education and community settings;

3) Translation to Real-World Technologies, Empowering Families : Creating scalable solutions and real-world technologies for parents to enhance their child’s mental and cognitive wellbeing at home.

We are looking for an outstanding scientist to join the Centre as a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow. Eligible applicants will additionally be nominated to apply for the University Research Assistant Professorship scheme (https://www.ntu.edu.sg/research/research-careers/research-assistant-professorship-(rap )).

S/he will work closely with EMPOWER’s Director, Professor Victoria Leong, as well as with local and international collaborators, as part of a diverse and talented international research team. S/he will also be expected to assist with supervision and teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. S/he will provide strong scientific contribution toward on-going basic research, translational programmes in child health under the Centre's remit and to assist with supervision and teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing strong scientific contribution toward on-going basic research, translational programmes in child health under the Centre's remit;

  • To assist with supervision and teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degree in a Computational or Statistics field

  • Strong track record of research publication, commensurate to career stage

  • Evidence of research leadership or strong potential to become an independent research leader

  • Experience with teaching and supervision

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Efficient, organized, and a good team player

  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
