Responsibilities
Provide psychological assessment and evidence-based, age-appropriate intervention for students with SEN and/or mental health issues conditions
Document and maintain proper clinical records in accordance with policies and procedures of the University Counselling Centre (UCC)
Provide psychological critical incident management and support for distressed students with SEN and staff
Work collaboratively with the internal and external stakeholders to mobilise care and support for the students with SEN
Build internal capacity by conducting training for staff on a range of SEN and evidence-based intervention strategies
Evaluate and/or develop service provisions for students and provide clinical updates/feedback to the University Counselling Centre
Provide strategic support to Head, UCC and submit statistical data and/or related reports as and when required
Perform additional duties as required by the nature of the position or the University Wellbeing Office
Requirements
Graduate qualification in Educational Psychology with experience in educational psychometric testing and working with comorbid mental health issues/condition
Full membership of a relevant professional body and knowledge of and adherence to professional standards and code of ethics and other relevant regulations
4-6 years of professional experience in educational testing with youth is desirable
3-5 years of experience working with youths with comorbid SEN and mental health issues/conditions is advantageous
Training and experience in psychological critical incident management is preferred
Experience working with young adults in a multi-disciplinary team is advantageous
Professional empathy and good interpersonal, communication and report writing skills
A good team player as well as being able to work independently
Aptitude in problem-solving and initiative
Proficient in IT skills
