Role Purpose

Provide leadership to the Asset Enhancement team and address issues and challenges.  Operate and maintain the buildings and facilities of campus to standards required to support academics /researchers /students’ activities with minimum downtime and with effective cost management. Able to bring in new technology/innovations to augment the workforce. 


Areas of Responsibilities

Operation and Maintenance of Campus Facilities
Ensure that campus facilities are operating at high reliability in order that core businesses of higher learning/research could proceed smoothly.

Responsible for the management, planning and supervision of preventive maintenance and daily operational work. Establish, implement and drive strategies and directions. 

Oversee department budget and manage operating and capital expenditure. 

 

Stakeholders Management
Build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order that FM work can be carried out smoothly.

 

Asset Management
Plan, renew and procure assets/resources/services in order that costs can be managed effectively

 

Staff Management & Development
Foster a collaborative work environment and motivate team members to accomplish goals. 
Retain and develop staff in order that there is succession at all levels and to improve staff productivity
 


Role Requirements

Job Relevant Education or Certification (minimum required):
• Good Degree in Engineering, Building Services or Facilities Management from a reputable university

 

Job Relevant Experience or Attributes:
• Minimum 15 years in management role of similar nature in organizations such as government agencies or developers
• Minimum of 10 years as owner of buildings/facilities with exposure in asset management and renewal. 
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills. 
• Have managed large teams of 50 staff or more.

 

Job Specific Technical Requirements (if any):
• Have strong foundation in finance (budgeting & cost tracking)
• Strong links/network to government and professional bodies
