The National University of Singapore (NUS) is looking for a highly accomplished and visionary leader to serve as the Dean of the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) and continue the College's dynamic trajectory towards global leadership in research, innovation, and enterprise across multiple disciplines.

CDE is a fusion of two world-class schools with distinguished histories, the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Design and Environment. The College is home to an outstanding multidisciplinary research ecosystem, where esteemed faculty members from diverse fields in Engineering, Architecture, and Design come together to spearhead cutting-edge initiatives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence the course of one of the world's leading academic institutions, nurture students into agile, future-ready talents, and make a significant impact on the field of engineering and design.

Profile of Candidate

We seek a leader with a distinguished record of scholarly achievements and a strong reputation within the academic community. S/he will advance the College's distinctive identity by combining traditional excellence and global perspective with an understanding of contemporary challenges in an interconnected world.

The Dean of CDE will possess the necessary experience and leadership skills to innovate and lead in a premier academic environment, and appreciate the diversity of disciplines within the College. S/he will have the ability to build and develop strong teams to take on large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects. An ability to raise funds will be a strong advantage. The successful candidate will recruit, retain, and develop top-quality faculty to ensure the continued success of the College. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also critical to building collaborative relationships within the College, NUS, and beyond. The candidate should embody the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the NUS community.
