The School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) was established to drive the expansion of NUS’ lifelong learning offerings in a concerted and strategic way that furthers our mission to be a leading global university, as well as fulfil our role as a public university of Singapore, shaping the future.

Through SCALE, working adults (i.e. professionals, managers and executives) who aspire to stay relevant and ahead of competition, companies looking to up-skill/re-skill their workforce, and even youths exploring quality tertiary education options, have access to NUS’ suite of innovative, world-class continuing and lifelong education offerings.

Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/education programmes, part-time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs of individuals. All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency.

Job Purpose

To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our SCALE-Global team as Business Development Executive

Reporting to the Senior Manager (Business Development – China Market), the incumbent provides full support to the business development function. This includes gathering information and data for the research on the China market, drafting proposals and contracts, following-up on outstanding client matters and ensuring that contracted programmes are executed by the Operations team in line with client expectations.

This role is offered on fixed term contract for 6 months.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collect information and data on the assigned market and conduct basic research and analyses

  • Assist in the sourcing of faculty and other resources for prospective programmes

  • Prepare initial drafts of client proposals

  • Assist in the preparation of draft contracts for programmes that have been confirmed with clients

  • Coordinate with the Operations Team on the sourcing of rooms, facilities and other logistic support in line with programme specifications

  • Maintain accurate and timely data and records in various systems




Academic & Professional Certification

  • Preferably a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a reputable university

  • IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications

Experience & Attributes

  • Entry level graduates are welcomed; any work experience in the education/training industry would be advantageous

  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin is critical as this role involves liaison with Asian clients; the ability to write in Mandarin would be advantageous

  • Good verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills with a positive work attitude

  • Excellent coordination and organization skills, with a customer-centric mindset

  • Strong team player who is meticulous, resourceful, resilient and thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented and ambiguous work environment
