We seek candidates, in his/her early stage of academic career, with the potential and drive to pursue an independent and vibrant research program with a collaborative interdisciplinary approach in the area of synthetic biology. The candidate will be expected to secure extramural funding and teach both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Job Description
The Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS invites applications from outstanding candidates for full-time faculty appointments (Practice Track) in the field of synthetic biology. NUS Synthetic Biology for Clinical and Technological Innovation (SynCTI) was formally established in Jan 2015 as the focal research program for synthetic biology at the National University of Singapore. SynCTI operates as a highly interdisciplinary research core that amalgamates leading Principal Investigators from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering. Through research collaborations with renowned international institutes and private industries, SynCTI strives to create new knowledge and develop foundational technologies in synthetic biology and groom future generations of highly skilled researchers endowed with basic science and translational research. About NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Established in 1905, the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is the first institution of higher learning in Singapore and the genesis of the National University of Singapore. The School offers one of the finest undergraduate medical programmes in the Asia Pacific region and commands international recognition and respect. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016 by subject and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2017 list NUS Medicine as a leading medical school in Asia. It admits 300 students to the MBBS degree programme annually and its principal missions are to educate and train the next generation of healthcare professionals, and foster research that will help to advance the practice of medicine. - Ph.D degree and postdoctoral training in the appropriate field
