The Student Community Engagement (SCE) Unit, under the Student Affairs Office, seeks to develop the social impact and innovation culture among the NTU student community. It contributes towards NTU Education’s strategic goal of nurturing future-ready NTU graduates with social impact and service-oriented leadership traits and skill-sets. 

The Assistant Manager provides both strategic and operational support in the planning, design, continuous improvement, and implementation of social innovation initiatives and efforts to drive and contribute to this environment of social impact.

Responsibilities
This position is ideal for a creative, energetic, and outgoing individual with a passion for working with young people.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders/partners to conceptualise and curate NTU-wide community engagement campaigns/events/projects with measurable social impact.
  • Identify emerging trends and develop new social impact programmes that will align with the SCE objectives.
  • Promote and manage end-to-end process in utilizing the CoLab4Good fund to promote social impact and innovation efforts through various institutional grants and stipends.
  • Manage the entire Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship Programme including admin, event planning, grant call, disbursement, and programme management/coordination.
  • Promote and manage the end-to-end process of Overseas Engagement Programmes in the areas of Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
  • Employ the use of Design Thinking and other related innovation concepts/methodologies to curate social innovation that support the development of students’ social innovation initiatives/programmes.
  • Oversee operations of the Colab4Good Room to curate ideation and implementation of student-led community-focused or social programmes.
  • Administer and manage the creation and approval for e-based content related to student social innovation projects and activities into required websites, blogsites, and other platforms.
  • Conduct feedback, collate statistics, and analyse reports on student activities, events, and projects.
  • Provide support in the preparation of management reports for the university administration and MOE.
  • Administrative support to the team and stakeholders on student community engagement related matters.

Requirements

  • A good Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience, preferably in the innovation and entrepreneurship space such as start-up incubation, social impact projects, Hackathons, etc.
  • Programme management and organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • Prior training in and/or familiarity in implementing innovation-related methodology and skills such as Design Thinking, Empathy Mapping, etc.
  • Prior experience involving considerable interaction with students or youth will be advantageous.
  • Prior experience in mentoring groups of youths in social/community development projects will be advantageous.   
  • Prior skills in marketing programmes using various channels will be advantageous.
