We invite suitable candidates to apply for the Assistant Manager/ Senior Assistant Manager, Student Affairs & Alumni to provide support for student academic progress, wellbeing and welfare of the students as part of a coordinated effort under the school’s student care.

Responsibilities

Re-admission, Fee Waivers Appeals:

  • Assist Head of Department (HOD) in the school in reviewing re-admission appeals and fee waiver appeals.

  • Work closely with HOD to evaluate reasons, justifications, and case notes provided in appeals according to University’s SOPs and guidelines.

Management of General Disciplinary Cases (Non-academic related):

  • Facilitation of Preliminary Investigations (PI), and working closely with Committee of Inquiry (COI), and Boards of Discipline (BOD) for all general student disciplinary cases

  • Other duties include:

    • Maintain records of disciplinary actions and outcomes

    • Tracking of student misconduct cases and disciplinary measures taken

Departmental Finance Matters:

  • Monitor departmental budget, review allocated funds utilization and expenditure.

  • Recommendation of purchases which aligns with department’s needs.

Teaching Support for Students:

  • Provide teaching and academic support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

  • Provide teaching and academic support for at-risk students facing Academic Warning (AW), Academic Probation (AP), Academic Termination (AT), Scholarship Warnings, Significant drop in SGPA, Semester LOAs, and Withdrawals

  • Ensure adherence to University’s SOPs and guidelines when providing academic and teaching support.

Alumni Cultivation and Activities:

  • Oversee, manage and support school’s Alumni Association (AA), alumni operation and attend University Advancement Office (UAO) meetings.

  • Planning and organising student/alumni activities and events by providing logistic support for the activities and events.

  • Monitor operating budget (allocated fund).

Staff Management

  • Supervise departmental staff to ensure smooth operations.

  • Conduct annual performance appraisals.

Department Publicity:

  • Oversee the department's public relations (PR) and publicity efforts.

  • Manage news write-ups and social media platforms to enhance department's engagement with existing students and alumni.

General Departmental Support:

  • Provide support across various departmental tasks and events within the school.

  • Coordinate logistics for departmental events and activities

  • Address inquiries and provide assistance to students, alumni, faculty members and visitors.


Requirements

  • You should possess a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ relevant experience in an education institute.

  • You should have working knowledge in mentoring and counselling of students.

  • Candidates with training in Basic Counselling will be an advantage.

  • You should be proficient in MS Office applications and database management systems.

  • You must be pro-active and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.

  • You are able to work independently and be a team player when required.

  • You should be able to supervise a team.

  • You should possess good communication and customer service skills.
