The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is seeking to hire a staff to manage the laboratory operations and activities. The candidate would be responsible for providing efficient technical and administrative support for all lab teachings and research activities. He/she will also need to oversee the safety standards in the lab in compliance to ISO 45001 standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take initiative in laboratory management and operation.

  • Ensure proper management, planning and implementation of Laboratory practices, procedures, and services as necessary to maintain efficient operations.

  • Plan and provide supports to laboratory experiments and projects. 

  • Procurement of laboratory supplies, ensure that purchases are made in compliance with the procurement policies and procedures

  • Budget planning, asset management, and equipment maintenance.

  • Ensure laboratory equipment are properly maintained, safe to operate and in good working condition.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical/ Mechatronics/ Manufacturing Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of mechatronics system, electrical & electronics controls, and programming language.

  • Knowledge of fundamental manufacturing/ assembly processes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Good interpersonal skills and enjoy working in an academic environment.

  • Highly motivated and customer oriented.

  • Good management and leadership skills.

  • Familiar with Workplace safety and health (WSH).

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
