Job Description
  • Establish, develop, review, implement and monitor of Department S&H Management System and its respective elements.  

       •    Establish a framework for legal & statutory compliance. This is through:
            o    Assessing the applicability of S&H legal requirements for the Department. E.g. Statutory medical examinations, Statutory equipments, departmental related licenses.
       •    Provide technical guidance to Departments/ Academic Supervisors and Staffs on Safety & Health requirements and propose measures based on hierarchy of controls

           e.g. Chemical compatibility, training requirements, licenses, personal protective equipment etc.
       •    Coordinate and provide oversight on department engaged sub-contractors, vendors or liaise with local authorities for any related queries.
       •    Support the planning and execution of projects (Safety & Health) within the department
       •    Provide support to College level S&H programmes and processes 
       •    Secretariat for Department and College level S&H committee/ management review meetings 
       •    Serve as backups for other Department S&H Coordinators and College S&H Business Partner.
       •    Review, implement, monitor and coordinate Safety & Health emergency preparedness within the department and supporting drills/exercises.


Qualifications

•    Degree or Diploma in Engineering or related EHS qualification from a recognised institution
•    Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in EHS and Fire Safety management 
•    Good understanding and knowledge on Workplace Safety & Health Act, Fire and environmental & other legal requirements
•    Efficient, strong analytical skills and able to work independently
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
•    Good interpersonal skills and qualities will see this person positively influence
•    Preferably a registered in Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM, qualified Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with SCDF and trained internal auditor for ISO14001 and ISO45001
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
