Job Description

 

The role will be responsible for day-to-day management of administration for industry engagement and partnerships, working closely with the Executive Director, Director (Strategy, Partnerships & Technology Translation) and Assistant Senior Manager.

 

The candidate will be the key go-to person for industry engagement and partnerships, functioning as a liaison between programme office, partner institutions and industry partners.

 

The position requires excellent interpersonal and writing skills, a high level of organization, diplomacy, creativity, focus, ability to work under tight deadlines, and familiarity with institutional and research environments.

 

The successful candidate will cover the following roles:

•    Support the Director (Strategy, Partnerships & Technology Translation) in the following strategic functions related to partnerships and engagements:

i.    Conceptualize good engagement and outreach strategies to promote programme office as a strong magnet for industry partnerships, engagements and collaborations with the ability to communicate effectively.
ii.    Proactively pursue and establish strong strategic partnerships with several targeted key industry players, as well as related government agencies with the aim to grow an ecosystem, increase industry contributions and enhance translational research capabilities;

•    Curate and analyse data with accuracy, and administer and maintain good industry engagements across multiple domains within programme office.
•    Pre-Programme and Post-Programme Preparations

 

INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS ADMINISTRATION
•    Oversight to ensure the necessary documentation for research collaboration agreements, non-disclosure agreements as required for assigned projects and that these are systematically tracked.
•    Monitoring progress of the research and operations, ensuring deliverables and milestones are met and timelines stay on track. Communicate project status to executive director and other directors

 

AGREEMENTS, IP and TECHNOLOGY TRANSLATION
•    Identify relevant intellectual property and risks based on reports from staff on projects and assist in technology translation activities from their respective teams. Interface when necessary with the central NUS ILO teams.
•    Support the programme office in crafting agreements with industry partners and consultants.
•    Support the programme office in tracking project outcomes and deliverables.

 

MANAGEMENT OF PARTNERSHIP WITH INDUSTRY THAT WILL INVOLVE AGREEMENTS AND RESOURCE PLEDGING
•    Support Directors and PIs on agreements and documentation with external parties.
•    Resource planning and pledging on such agreements.
•    Work with NUS' business office and legal counsels in crafting agreements.
•    Administer implementation of such agreements, including reporting, invoicing, payments and cost recovery, where applicable.

 

COMMUNICATION, OUTREACH AND MARKETING
•    Lead the outreach and communication effort of projects' stakeholders/partners of publications, presentations, inventions. Interface when necessary with the central NUS Comms teams.
•    Help design or refine business development strategies, including marketing, business development and application development templates, etc.

 


Job Requirements

 

•    At least a recognised degree in business administration, accounting or engineering
     Possess 5+ years of related administrative experience
     (previous positions in academic environments and deep science fields would be a plus)
•    Demonstrated multi-stakeholder project management experience
•    Ability to handle complex, ambiguous and challenging situations and comfortable with change in a fluid environment within an evolving organization
•    Familiarity with project management resources and tools
•    General knowledge of local funding bodies and grant regulations
•    Ability to resolve complex issues and to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments
•    Must have an advanced application of MS Office Suite (CRM, Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
•    Hands-on, analytical, empathetic, creative, passionate professional committed to ongoing progress
