Assistant Manager/Manager (Outreach and Alumni Engagement) - 00AZY 



The incumbent will play a leading role in outreach and alumni engagement events and activities such as conferences, seminars, distinguished lectures, workshops, social activities etc. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following - 

  • Administer all outreach and alumni events e.g. conferences, seminars, and workshops, including planning, budgeting, actual day execution and post-event follow up.

  • Work with Associate Director in Alumni engagement, including –

    • Engaging and connecting with alumni via social media platforms.

    • Promoting alumni activities to graduating students.

    • Capturing new graduates’ photos/interviews at graduation ceremonies.

    • Creating alumni features and publicising them on department’s social media platforms.

    • Write post-event articles (e.g. networking events; social events).

    • Maintain and update Alumni post-event photos, articles, write-ups and related content.

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date alumni and outreach database and mailing list.

  • Responsible for the development and content management of the department’s website (including the alumni/outreach webpages) and social media platforms.



  • Graduate with minimum 5 years relevant working experience preferably in event management.

  • Computer savvy. Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Access), Google docs, Google sheets, Adobe applications, Social Media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Webpage). Knowledgeable in graphics arts software (especially WordPress). Familiar with Javascript, HTML, HTTP, CSS, and XML, including internet related software would be an advantage.

  • Strong organisational, management & problem solving skills with meticulous attention to details and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills, preferably with good science writing skills to be able to translate complex Science into simple English.

  • Team player who is self-motivated, creative, resourceful and have a high level of initiative.

  • Outgoing personality.

  • Must be able to work weekday evenings and weekends, when required.
