Job Description

Job Purpose   

Reporting to Head, Communications, Corporate Services, the candidate focusses on handling data analysis to draw out valuable insights for decision making and strategic communications planning to advance Office of Student Affairs’ (OSA) interests. The candidate will support in the development and implementation of marketing and digital communication and engagement activities and campaigns to raise the profile, programming, and services of OSA.

 

Duties & Responsibilities  

 

Data Analysis 

•  Monitor and conduct data/statistical analysis of online sentiments, and evaluate the effectiveness of OSA’s communications and engagement strategies based on qualitative and quantitative data
•  Deliver insights reporting and utilise visualisation tools to recommend communications strategies. 
•  Conduct timely focus group studies and/or public perception surveys with the end goal of harnessing data to improve OSA relevance to the student population.
•  Passionate about the potential of data and insights to transform a communications narrative, a creative idea, the direction of a brand or the connection with target audience

 

Marketing and digital communications

•  Support communication strategies, programmes or campaigns that address specific business needs and achieve desired results 
•  Content creator and producer of OSA suite of social media (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, Spotify PodCast, etc) to convey key messages tied to business goals
•  Advise internal stakeholders, especially OSA staff, on effective communications strategies and tactics to achieve communication objectives and goals
•  Administrative, procurement and finance support 


Qualifications

•  Diploma and/or Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication / Administration or a relevant discipline 
•  5 years and above or equivalent of relevant experience in communications and data analyst
•  Analytical mind, and ability to think strategically
•  Excellent written and spoken communication skills
•  High proficiency in third-party communications solutions, e.g. Google analytics, social listening tools
•  Proficient user of the following tools: 
    o Social listening (Meltwater or equivalent) 
    o SEO (Google trends)
    o Web analytics (Google analytics, Google data studio)
•  Candidate must possess intermediate data literacy; willingness to explore and develop the growing opportunities in Comms data
•  Experience in data visualisation software will be advantageous
•  Positive attitude, self-motivated and a good team player to collaborate with colleagues across the University
•  Adaptability on the job - open to new ideas and flexible to work through challenging issues
