Assistant Manager (NUS)

The candidate will be working in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.  For this position, the candidate shall provide administrative, operational, technical and liaison support to ensure effective development and administration in the areas of student administration and the department as a whole. This position is required to meet the faculty’s vision to offer outstanding education in the humanities and social sciences, attracting the best students.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Applied Masters Programme (upcoming) – Provide administrative support to launch the upcoming Applied Masters Programme
  • Continuing Education and Training (CET) – Collaborate with SCALE to manage end-to-end programme operations including faculty engagement, managing programme budget and logistics.
  • Assist Admin Lead in curriculum planning and timetable scheduling for undergraduate and graduate programmes.
  • Assist in Department Ethics Review Committee (DERC) matters.
  • Exam Processing – Check marks submitted by faculty members and ensure zero discrepancy. Assist in invigilation duties and other exam related matters.
  • Provide support for undergraduate and graduate events (e.g. assist in the coordination and communication with students and faculty members, provide logistical support such as venue booking, venue setup, other onsite administrative and operational support)
  • Handle queries from students, staff and public received at the counter, calls and other channels.
  • Other general office administrative tasks as assigned by the Admin Lead.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A recognised University degree, with some working experience in the higher education industry
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environment with multiple systems
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented with high accuracy working on large volume of data
  • Well-organized with good monitoring and follow-up skills within tight deadlines
  • Confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with confidential data
  • Positive attitude, able to work independently and as a team player
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
