IAS engages world-class scholars and intellectual leaders to visit, interact and collaborate with our faculty leading cutting edge research projects to further elevate the academic standing of NTU and Singapore on the global map. IAS organises and sponsors activities ranging from lectures and topical conferences/workshops to cross-disciplinary frontier research conferences, distinguished lecture series as well as advanced schools to promote research excellence.

The IAS is recruiting an Assistant Manager to provide key support for the Institute’s frontier research programmes, event management and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and management of a portfolio of international research conferences, workshops, seminars and public lectures
  • Coordinate the visits of eminent professors, promising young visiting scientists and postdoc fellows
  • Writing of minutes, letters and correspondences
  • Copywriting and editing for IAS publications
  • Update and enhance IAS events website and social media on regular basis
  • Administer procurement matters from sourcing to tracking of goods receipt
  • Manage and support ad-hoc projects and tasks

Job Requirements:

  • A recognised degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent and with at least 3 years of relevant administrative experience
  • Positive working attitude, good interpersonal relationship skills and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic graphic design skills
  • A service-oriented mindset and able to multi-tasks
  • An effective team member with good self-management skills

The tasks require frequent interaction with a wide range of colleagues from NTU and external organisations, hence the position holder will be responsible for projecting the image and reputation of the Institute.
