The Renaissance Engineering Programme (REP) is one of the key programmes under the NTU Premier Scholars Programmes (PSP) to nurture students as future leaders of industry. It is a broad-based, inter-disciplinary programme which integrates engineering, science, business, technology management and humanities and prepares students to be future-ready. Other than studying locally, students have the opportunity to spend the third year overseas at one of the renowned partner universities, with professional attachment.

This position at REP will play a significant role to support the pillars of NTU 2025 primarily in Education, Innovation and Community. The incumbent will handle graduate academic and manage overseas exchange administrative and scholarship matters. In addition, the incumbent will also be responsible for transforming learning and redesigning learning environment and spaces to support any online or blended learning approach. The incumbent will transform innovation by supporting students through the co-curricular journey and explore experiential learning, entrepreneurial activities, community engagement activities and fabrication tools for tinkering. Lastly, the incumbent will identify activities to foster a cohesive and diverse community through OneNTU culture such as the Transition and Orientation Programme. It will also include aspects such as safety management.

  • Plan and coordinate graduate programmes

  • Provide quality administrative services to both REP Fellows and students to ensure a smooth delivery of the graduate programmes including handling class scheduling and examination matters

  • Manage the administration of course registration activities, class time-tabling and examination time-tabling and coordinating with the undergraduate curriculum team

  • Work closely with OAS and REP Fellows on curriculum-related matters including new course proposal and submission

  • Coordinate Board of Examiners meeting and follow up with post meeting changes

  • Work closely with the Engineering Schools, NBS and NTC to draw up a list of suitable MSc electives for students and to constantly streamline and improve the process for MSc elective

  • Work with course coordinators to develop and curate new courses and evaluate effectiveness of the programme after each semester

  • Analyse trends in student feedback on teaching after each semester

  • Organise town halls and carry out exit surveys for the graduating cohort

  • Plan convocation-related ceremony for REP graduates with different parties in NTU and organise graduation-related events

  • Engagement with Alumni

    • Maintain regular engagement channels with alumni

    • Organise alumni-related activities and work closely with the alumni association to roll out suitable activities

    • Monitor and update career progression of alumni and carry out surveys with alumni and their employers to support the accreditation exercise

  • Manage and act as account manager for students on the one-year overseas exchange

    • Liaise with respective REP Fellows and Associate Chair (Academic) of the various Schools for curriculum inputs

    • Provide advice on course mapping for Year 3 overseas modules

  • Process credit transfers when students return from overseas, including verifying that course-matching details are correctly entered with accurate number of AUs reflected

  • Coordinate internships process with Career & Attachment Office and overseas partner universities to adhere to visa regulations overseas

  • Carry out a holistic programme administrative role and act as account manager of one of the overseas partner universities and be responsible for activities related to overseas exchange and local exchange if overseas exchange is suspended, budget review, scholarship support/queries and liaison with the respective overseas partner universities on all curriculum, student, accommodation sourcing and financial matters

  • Liaise with overseas partner universities and ensure all payment and financial matters are promptly attended to

  • Coordinate and Manage the Learning Environment and Spaces

    • Oversee the maintenance and upgrading of learning environment, facilities and AV equipment

    • Work closely with REP Fellows to harness suitable learning technologies to respond to the different types of learning activity such as experiential learning, entrepreneurial activity and leadership development activities

    • Ensure proper safety management measures are in place and clearly communicate to students, including safety of equipment and equipment maintenance

    • Work with Student Club to refresh the Interactive Social Wall in North Hill

    • Act as safety champion for the programme

  • Support the Co-curricular Journey

    • Act as facilitator for Makers Lab and work closely with the student leaders of Makers Lab to support them in the use of common fabrication tools and tinkering space

    • Work with the Student Club on student life activities and community engagement activities

    • Undertake to carry out analysis of feasibility study proposal from student club and perform purchase requests where applicable

  • Community-related Activities and Outreach Activities

    • Oversee the entire process for the Transition and Orientation Programme including proposal and budget

    • Liaise with the student organising parties, College of Engineering and Office of Student Wellbeing to ensure adherence to guidelines

    • Carry out post programme survey and analyse feedback

    • Work with other PSP offices to drive university-wide activities

  • Admission Exercise

    • Handle all scholarship-related queries from applicants and process scholarship offers in system by working closely with Office of Admissions

    • Carry out all technical related queries and respond to applicants and reviewers promptly

    • Support the online admission system in the annual admission exercise where necessary

  • Scholarship Matters

    • Work closely with Office of Admissions on scholarship queries and issues raised by students

    • Develop a plan of action to identify a new pipeline of external scholarship companies and provide alternative choice to new students

    • Plan a series of engagement channels with potential external scholarship companies and market the programme to them and confirm their interest

  •  Financial Operations

    • Coordinate inputs for the annual financial budget submission and submit the financial budget in the required format promptly

    • Perform screening of purchase requests for the programme and ensure they are in accordance with the University’s procurement procedures and guidelines

    • Process and verify claims from students, student club, faculty and colleagues promptly and offer advice where applicable

    • Manage the inventory listing and asset records of the programme and ensure that disposal of assets is properly carried out according to the University’s guidelines

  • Full accreditation exercise for REP

    • Oversee the organising of the accreditation site visit including planning the logistics and set up for the actual site visit

    • Carry out selected surveys and analysis and organise dialogues with different stakeholders necessary for the requirements of the accreditation


Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree with At least 6 years of relevant working experience

  • Prior experience in programme management and operations in an institute of higher learning would be an advantage

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with sensitivity towards staff and students of different cultural backgrounds

  • Meticulous, excellent organisational skills

  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and deliver with quality and timeliness

  • High integrity, resourceful, analytical, strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
