An opening for Assistant Program Manager is currently available at NTU Institute of Structural Biology. This position is essential to provide administrative and management support to NISB.


 

Responsibilities

Administrative:

  • Safety management
    • Facilitate compliance support with laboratory safety and health guidelines.
    • Assist Program Director and Platform Manager in overseeing and managing Protein Production Platform and NISB Cryo-EM Platform safety-related issues.
    • Liaise with the NISB safety manager on the latest safety implementation.
    • Safety briefing to new users and research group.
    • Verify and collate user’s risk assessment and OHSE online safety courses and review existing safety policies, measures, and update
       
  • Procurement and asset management
    • Review and ensure procurement procedure that adheres to NTU procurement guidelines and policy.
    • Ordering requester and a good receiver.
    • Ordering laboratory consumables and chemical reagents.
    • Updating and tracking lab inventory list SDS
       
  • Equipment maintenance service contract
    • Liaise with the service provider and NTU legal on the service agreement.
    • Updating and keeping track of equipment’s service contract validity.
       
  • Quotation and billing
    • Liaise and understand customers’ requests and propose competitive costs for the experiment and the issuance of quotations.
    • Handle and monitor the billing process

Technical support:

  • Assist and consult on protein expression and purification and cryo-EM with industry customers.
  • Supervise and train new users – students and junior researchers.
  • Establish Cryo-EM and protein production workflow.

Requirements

  • Possess Master or PhD in Biological Life Sciences or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience on laboratory management and administrative, laboratory safety management, and procurement.
  • Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in protein production (prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression system) and protein purification) and cryo-TEM workflow.  
  • Basic laboratory knowledge and skills are mandatory.
  • Excellent teamwork awareness and good interpersonal skills
  • Strong responsibility for research work and able to work independently.
