System Maintenance Specialist

Job Purpose:

The Security Systems Maintenance Specialist is responsible for supervising the daily field operations and activities of the contracted Maintenance Service Provider. He/she will ensure work quality, verify invoices, and work completion, and ensure KPIs and service level agreements are met.

In addition, he/she will ensure that the Service Provider adheres to and follows the maintenance plans by inspecting, auditing, and observing work in the field, as well as by ensuring that assets are properly maintained

and preserved.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with the service provider on maintenance systems related issues and ensure maintenance program are properly implemented.
  • Conduct and participate in walkthrough with the service providers and identify issues and preventive maintenance progress in areas of responsibility.
  • Monitor corrective maintenance tickets in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and ensure compliance with the rectification periods set forth in the contract.
  • Work closely with services providers to implement security system maintenance policies, process, and procedure.
  • Ensure that all KAUST safety procedures are followed by the Service Provider.
  • Monitor the agreed-upon KPIs and apply the appropriate penalties in monthly payments if the KPIs are not met.
  • Ensure that the SLA’s with third party providers are followed as per the signed contract.
  • Review the root causes of repetitive failures of the system and discuss it with the Lead, Security Systems Maintenance
  • Advise the Lead Security System Maintenance in evaluating the quality of work performed by the service provider.
  • Coordinate and participate in systems’ penetration test when required
  • Oversee spare part consumption through stock level inventory/KPIs.
  • Conduct quality check for Preventative Maintenance & Corrective Maintenance and other maintenance routines and plans.
  • Conduct field inspection and audit when required.
  • Check the inventory of the store regularly to ensure availability of agreed critical spare parts
  • Provide off-shift support for the department on an as-needed basis.
  • Maintain maintenance and inspect records and provide reports as required.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Person Requirements:

Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of the maintenance principles, methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Strong Technical background in electronic systems
  • Working knowledge in inspection of equipment / systems and techniques.
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and other systems diagrams / blueprints.
  • Strong English communication skills, in speaking and writing.
  • Attention to details.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field.

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of related experience working in systems maintenance and/or inspection.
