The Communication and Computing Systems Lab (CCSL)  of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST ) invites applications for a Research Scientist (RS) with experience in the general area of body area networks (BAN) and intra-body communications (IBC). The candidate must have demonstrated a proven capacity for world-class research that is reflected in his/her publication record. In particular, a track record of excellent research, student mentorship, writing and communication skills are fundamental. We seek candidates who are prepared to participate in the shaping of a challenging and innovative research theme, as well as contributing to the ambitious research agenda of the CCSL, supported by substantial research facilities and a nurturing eco-system.

Experience in the following areas is desirable:

  • Mixed signal circuit design
  • Wearable body sensor design and applications
  • Human-Electrode interface modelling
  • Communication system design and modelling
  • Health monitoring, stress profiling etc. using BAN
  • Application of sensors and systems in biomedical areas.
  • Your Role

    Successful candidates will be given excellent conditions for the deployment of their research skills, in terms of working conditions and laboratory facilities. The successful applicant will be involved in planning and executing research directions in collaboration with the principal investigator, Professor Ahmed Eltawil. Dissemination of research results is expected to be in high-impact venues, including journal publications, conference presentations, and professional meetings. Furthermore, the successful applicant will be expected to help supervise and guide graduate students.
