Job Purpose:

A project manager with over ten years of combined operational and project experience leading and delivering large scale and complicated multidisciplinary projects within the E&PM department.

An ambitious and pragmatic individual with proven ability to successfully deliver critical projects, ensuring key objectives and planned outcomes are achieved. You should possess strong commercial aptitude and an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the project life cycle from feasibility studies to commissioning.

You should be an effective leader and use facilitative management to create high performing teams and foster collaborative working relationships with external designers, engineers and all the relevant stakeholders.

Major Accountabilities:

You will:

  • Complete specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
  • Facilitate the definition of the project scope, work with clients to prepare projects business case, budget request and the project charter.
  • Work closely with FM teams during planning and design stage and conduct constructability reviews.
  • Work closely with the procurement department during the tender stage and any facilitate the answers to any technical queries raised by contractors.
  • Facilitate contractor’s site visit during the bid process.
  • Ensure that the contractor has all contract documents and the most up to date as built drawings
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Supervise all activities of project and ensure compliance to all plans and specifications and identify any errors in plans and ensure optimal working of construction personnel.
  • Evaluate, select and adapt construction management and control techniques, procedures and criteria to suit job tasks and devices and implement solutions to problems encountered.
  • Familiar with FIDIC type contracts and contract administration, act as the Engineer/Owner representative and respond to contractor’s claims.
  • Use effective project management and control systems to regularly report on progress to clients and proponents.
  • Act as primary point of contact for the construction supervision of the projects between the contractor, client and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress of construction against the program and take steps to avoid delay.
  • Place an emphasis on safe construction practices (zero incident) and on maintaining a high quality of construction.
  • Lead by example in driving safe practices on site.
  • Manage software and systems required for the administration of the project construction supervision.
  • Resolve stakeholder’s questions within required timeframe and provide assistance to all stakeholders
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
  • Project Management Certification, or Equivalent.

Experience:

You will have:

  • 10+ years of overall experience in construction projects, with 5+ years specific in project management at senior level.
