Job Purpose:

KAUST has been tasked to deliver several substantial, and high profile projects. The Program Manager will be required to lead the successful completion of the Shushah Island Coral Reefscape Project. The Shushah Island Project will be the world’s largest coral garden, covering an area of 100 hectares.

You will be a highly experienced construction professional that has delivered multiple projects concurrently of differing size and complexity. The Program Manager will be a strong, pragmatic leader with a successful record of accomplishment in overseeing, and ensuring the effective execution of project portfolios.

Through effective leadership and guidance, the Program Manager will serve as the liaison between the 3rd party project management team, and the KAUST proponent. You will report program/project updates to upper management, and other key stakeholders throughout the Project.

** This position is a 2 year fixed-term contract, your permanent base will be at NEOM, with occasional visits to meet key stakeholders at KAUST.**

Major Accountabilities:

You will:

  • Direct the delivery of Program/Project Management activities to ensure that all projects are completed on time, to budget and in accordance with KAUST safety and quality standards.
  • Lead and manage a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of construction and engineering professionals.
  • Provide timely and effective performance management feedback, advice and guidance to all team members, identifying and addressing skills and knowledge gaps in order to build and maintain a high performing team.
  • Allocate Project Manager/Engineer Leads to work in conjunction with planning staff from project concept/feasibility stage to ensure the seamless transfer of responsibility for project delivery during the detailed design stage.
  • Ensure that all program/project governance requirements are effectively managed including, but not limited to cost control, change management and control, risk analysis, mitigation and management.
  • Serve as the focal point for project clients/ stakeholders, and ensure timely and accurate sharing of progress updates and related information.
  • Organize and recommend for approval the project charter, appointment of consultants/contractors during execution, variation orders, engineer’s instructions, schedule/ budget variances, and work order release.
  • Effectively manage the coordination and collaboration between KAUST and Design Consultants, Contractors, internal and external regulatory authorities, vendors, and service providers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a construction/engineering related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Post-graduate qualification in construction/engineering related discipline is desirable.
  • Project Management Professional certification or other professional certification is desirable.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years relevant experience.
