Summary:

The Marketing and Communications Lead advances the mission of the Office of Culture, Enrichment, and Engagement through leading, advising and executing OCEE marketing and communications activities and operation. The post holder will set out strategic and comprehensive plans ensuring that a cohesive message runs through all the communications channels, including the OCEE's website and social media, publications, and PR. The Marketing and Communications Lead will be responsible for running a range of activities in liaison with KAUST departments and external vendors, ensuring the engagement of the segmented audiences. In addition, lead the team effectively to successfully deliver high quality outcomes that will add great value to the audiences’ journey.

Major Responsibilities:

Marketing and Communication

  • Lead on Marketing and communication projects and activities to include but not limited to continuous improvement, strategies, plans, processes, and concepts. The website platforms and content are key elements to maintain and improve. Key visuals, designs, deliverable printing materials, production of articles, announcements, presentations, posters will be part of these duties
  • He/she will work on a range of projects across OCEE edutainment, cultural, academic, entrepreneurial, sponsorship program, and will contribute to the plans, and lead the design and delivery of all communications and marketing to ensure timely and successful promotion of the various activities.
  • Responsible for building a sustainable brand for the Office; effectively managing the brand and ensuring that KAUST guidelines and standards are followed
  • Responsible for brand design vendor management including briefings, preparing pre-requirements following up and ensuring delivery against objectives and deadlines
  • Working under the supervision of the Projects Manager; lead the Marketing and Communication team to the successful delivery of effective OCEE offerings
  • Identify marketing and communications relations opportunities and oversee the effective development and management of existing and new relationships that will assist in meeting the office’s target and assure a sustainable growth
  • Manage events and projects as assigned and required
  • Responsible of the evaluation of the Office’s communication strategies assuring the effective and sustainable growth
  • Collaborate extensively with OCEE team and wider KAUST teams to gather requirements and understand their needs and ensure their effective participation in Marketing and Communication projects and activities.
  • Oversee the research and implementation of innovative marketing activities, including direct mail, social media marketing, website, public relations, advertisements, branding tools, and other initiatives

  • Ensure that the work reflects the values of participation, partnership, sustainability, social responsibility, cost-effectiveness, transparency, and accountability.
  • Contribute in the planning and execution of OCEE’s activities and facilitating MOSTI tours/visits ensuring the delivery of excellent, enriching, and impactful experiences/journeys
  • Contribute to the overall development of OCEE strategies and plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in communications role with accountabilities as above 6-10 years of experience
