Faculty Positions in Energy Resources and Petroleum Engineering-" Energy-related Geo-Storage "- 2023/24

We are seeking applicants for a faculty position with a specialization relevant to one or more energy geo-storage technologies, including CO2 sequestration, and underground gas storage for natural gas, hydrogen or air. The successful candidate will focus on advancing fundamental knowledge of governing processes and technology development using experimental and modeling methods, corresponding to one or more of the following areas: mixed fluids, transport phenomena, advective-reactive-diffusive processes, monitoring, rock mechanics, geochemistry, basin modeling with organic and inorganic knowledge. The candidate will work in collaboration with an interdisciplinary group  within multiple programs at the university, with industry partners, and governmental agencies to promote and demonstrate  technology deployment in the region.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in petroleum, chemical, civil engineering, geosciences or a related field. Ideal candidates are expected to  have experimental background with preferred knowledge in reservoir development, monitoring and modeling. Successful applicants should have a proven track record in publishing high-impact papers, and will be expected to establish thriving research and teaching programs.

This position promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between ERPE & ERSE programs. It could be aligned with Climate and Livability, Circular Carbon initiatives.
