We wish to appoint a minimum of two (2) Professors within the School of International Relations—with the ability to appoint three (3). The people appointed will be outstanding scholars in any field of International Relations with a proven track record of producing research outputs of the highest international standing and with great impact potential, securing significant grant funding and leading high quality externally funded research projects. The successful candidates will also be expected to have a range of interests which strengthen and complement those within the School and make an outstanding contribution to the field’s advancement through research (i.e. outputs, engagement/impact, contribution to the discipline). They will be expected to prominently represent the University of St Andrews in the UK and international communities.
Candidates will hold a doctorate in a cognate discipline and will be expected to be capable of teaching the subject to honours and taught postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds. The primary criteria for appointment will be evidence of an outstanding internationally recognised research record, a clear programme of anticipated research activity for the coming years and a significant research funding record.
