Salary: 45,000–61,000 GBP 

We are seeking an inspirational and visionary programme leader who will have a significant input into establishing a new generation of games professionals through leading an internationally facing Cinematic Art & Film Production programme.

Partnered with the University of Hertfordshire, Universal University is a vibrant and dynamic university of the creative industries in the centre of Moscow. The 10 schools within the university have been at the forefront of higher and postgraduate education in the creative industries in Russia since the inception of its founding school, the British Higher School of Art & Design in 2003.

Building upon the success of our existing undergraduate provision, we are introducing an exciting new bachelor’s degree in Cinematic Arts & Production in one of our oldest schools, Moscow Film School, commencing September 2022. 

Since 2012, Moscow Film School School has been providing professional training in film production, animation, and CG & VFX to meet the increased demand of film and TV production companies across Russia. 

The BA (Hons) Cinematic Arts & Film Production programme will be validated in May 2022 by our partner institution, the University of Hertfordshire. Subject to their availability, the postholder will be invited to contribute in the validation process and event. 

The successful candidate will join a community of experienced art, design and media lecturers and subject specialists consisting of international and local full time and part time staff who together help to create a culturally rich and vibrant, creative environment.

All Learning and Teaching is in English and knowledge of Russian language is not necessary for the post.

Applicants will be ambitious and highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills and be team players with the ability to inspire, lead and manage staff and students.

The university is located in one of the most prolific art districts in the heart of Moscow, which offers a rich and stimulating range of cultural, historical, and professional resources.

Salary details: Monthly salary will be paid in the Russian Ruble equivalent of the GBP monthly salary rate. Russian Income Tax is set at a flat rate of 13%. 

Additional benefits: The University provides visa support, medical insurance, relocation assistance, annual return flight, Russian language classes, research and scholarly activity allocation, 35 days annual leave in addition to mandatory Russian public holidays and school holiday closures. 

Place of work: Moscow, Russia. The School is located on the premises of the Moscow art-cluster Artplay, close to the city centre being just one stop from Red Square and within close proximity to several metro lines. 

Closing Date: Review of applications will commence 24th January 2022. The position will remain open until filled.
