Two positions of Scientific Research Assistant within the POC CeCBiD-EOSC project (# of pos: 2)

Position: Two positions of Scientific Research Assistant within the POC CeCBiD-EOSC “Cloud and Big Data Center for participation in the European Cloud for Open Science” project, SMIS code 124405 (http://cecbid-eosc.ifin.ro/ ).

“Horia Hulubei” National Institute for Research and Development in Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Department of Computational Physics and Information Technology, is hiring two Scientific Research Assistants for a definite duration, until 31.05.2023, with the norm of 8 hours per day, within the the POC CeCBiD-EOSC project.

Main responsibilities:

• Contributions to the development of services and software applications to support modeling and simulation of complex nanostructures;
• Contributions to the creation of a software platform hosted on Cloud infrastructure, for accelerating and automating ab-initio calculations for modeling and simulating nanostructures using Machine Learning methods.

Requirements for filling the position:

• Doctoral programme student in computational physics or materials/condensed matter physics;
• Knowledge of the English language, at least intermediate level;
• Work experience with the SIESTA program;
• Work experience with the Python language;
