“Horia Hulubei” National Institute for Research and Development in Physics and Nuclear Engineering - Nuclear Physics Department hires a scientific research assistant (ACS), for a definite duration of 24 months, full time job (8 h/day), under Project PN-III-P4-ID-PCE-2020-0293 “Hot compact stars with exotic liberty degrees: properties, stability, thermal evolution.”

Requirements for filling positions:

1. Physics faculty graduate

2. Master’s / doctoral student in one of the following fields: nuclear physics, theoretical physics or astrophysics

3. Knowledge of IT, programming languages (C / C++ / Fortran), numerical methods, data analysis and processing programs

4. Foreign languages: English, at least intermediate level (writing and speaking).

Abilities, qualities and skills: scientific culture and curiosity, critical mind, adaptability, creativity, resourcefulness, discipline, efficiency

Main responsibilities:

- Acquiring the knowledge necessary to fulfil the tasks specific to the activity in the Nuclear Physics Department;

- On-going training and honing in the position topics;

- Developing the calculation codes necessary to achieve scientific goals, data generation and analysis

The competition will consist of a written test and an interview in the field of the position topics. The interview can be held only by the candidates who have obtained a minimum score of 7 in the written test.

The candidates who have obtained a minimum score of 7 at the interview are declared admitted. The final score is calculated as arithmetic mean of the scores obtained for the written test and the interview and must be at least 7. The candidate who has obtained the highest score among the candidates competing for the same position is considered admitted, provided that they have obtained the minimum necessary score.
