Horia Hulubei National institute for Physics and Nuclear Enginnering is looking to hire a master student for the IRON project (funded under PN-III-P4-PCE-2021-0490)  which aims to:

1. Produce a highly precise dataset of neutron inelastic cross sections on 56 Fe,

2. Produce a precise dataset of proton inelastic cross sections on 56 Fe,

3. Compare the two datasets using a methodology similar to the one presented in our previous work and to further develop this methodology.

The neutron-induced experiment is planned at the GELINA neutron source using the GAINS spectrometer while the proton-induced one will run at the 9 MV tandem accelerator of IFIN-HH using two HPGe detectors place at 110o and 150o in respect to the beam direction.

The scientific research assistant involvement will be related to the proton-induced experiment (writing the experiment proposal, performing the measurements and analyzing the data).
