Offer Description

The Transylvanian Institute of Neuroscience is organizing a competition for a temp postdoc researcher in bioinformatics, biostatistics, genomics, informatics, applied electronics or a related field. The winning candidate will be hired full-time in the project "Determining the DNA damage network that drives repeat expansion in Huntington’s Disease," a project funded through the PNRR-III-C9-2022-I8 call, with the funding request number 66/14.11.2022.

Skills/Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. PhD in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Genomics, Informatics, Applied Electronics or a related field.

2. Demonstrable experience in GWAS data analysis and omics data integration.

3. Solid programming skills in languages ​​such as Python, R, or Bash.

4. Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with international teams as well as manage projects independently.

5. Experience with Huntington's disease is a plus.

6. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.

7. Seniority in the research activity, after obtaining the doctorate, of a maximum of 8 years and no more than 10 years, full-time equivalent.


Specific Requirements

Responsibilities:

1. Analysis and interpretation of data from Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) to identify genetic variations associated with Huntington's disease.

2. Integrating data from various sources, including CRISPR, transcriptomic and proteomic studies, to better understand disease mechanisms.

3. Data integration and data analysis from single-cell RNA and ATAcseq.

4. Development and implementation of algorithms and software for the analysis of genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic data.

5. Collaboration with the international research team in the Balmus Laboratory at Cambridge University to develop data analysis strategies and interpret the results.

6. Writing and presenting the results in English in scientific reports and at international conferences.
