Research  Assistant   position (Member - doctoral student):

  • The candidate must possess a bachelor's and master's degree in one of the following fields chemistry/chemical engineering/biochemistry/biophysics/pharmacy/medicine and must be enrolled as PhD student within an institution organizing doctoral studies in Romania in chemistry/chemical engineering/physics/pharmacy/medicine;
  • Evidence of competences demonstrated through diplomas, certificates, CV etc. in the field of preparaing nanoformulations for biomedical purposes and experience in carrying out in vitro/in vivo studies; proficiency in laboratory animal (rodent) care and handling techniques; experimental techniques for monitoring specific parameters in vivo;
  • Theoretical and/or practical knowledge in in vitro/in vivo studies; Knowledge of legislation relating to the use of animals for scientific purposes; Knowledge of the ethical and legislative norms regarding the performance of in vivo studies; Competence in handling, transporting, and processing biological materials obtained from animals;
  • Theoretical and/or practical knowledge in the formulation of preparations, respecting the specific protocols of pharmacology and molecular analysis;
  • Intermediate knowledge of a foreign language, English mandatory, other international languages are an advantage;
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally;
  • Must possess motivation and creativity, along with advanced communication and teamwork abilities;
  • Practical knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel, Power Point) is required. Familiarity with GraphPad and OriginLab is considered an advantage.

Research  Assistant   position (Member-doctoral student):

  • The candidate must possess a bachelor's and master's degree in one of the following fields chemistry/chemical engineering/pharmacy and must be enrolled as PhD student within an institution organizing doctoral studies in Romania in chemistry/chemical engineering/pharmacy;
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge in fine organic chemistry and organic structural analysis;
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge in heterocyclic chemistry and oligopeptide chemistry;
  • Intermediate knowledge of a foreign language, English mandatory, other international languages are an advantage;
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally;
  • Must possess motivation and creativity, along with advanced communication and teamwork abilities;
  • Practical knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel, Power Point) is required. Familiarity with ChemDraw, Origin, MestReNova, ChemSketch, and ImageJ is considered an advantage.

Scientific  Researcher  (Member - post-doctoral  researcher):

  • The candidate must have completed higher education, including a bachelor's and master's degree, in the fields of chemistry or chemical engineering;
  • The candidate holds a doctor's degree in one of the previously mentioned fields and meet the criteria for being classified as a “post-doctoral researcher” as defined in Instruction no. 2260/15.11.2023 regarding the clarification of the definition of “post-doctoral researcher” within projects related to the investments of Component 9 “Support for the private sector, Research, Development and Innovation” of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan issued by the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization: “the person who, on the date of the call, holds a doctor's degree and has experience in research of no more than 8 years full-time equivalent, from the date of the first doctoral degree, but not exceeding 10 years full-time equivalent under the conditions provided by the European Research Executive Agency (REA)”. *The date of the call refers to the date launch of the PNRR-III-C9-2022-I8 call, namely 15.09.2022. **If the doctoral degree was awarded by ministerial order, the date of the ministerial order shall be taken into account, otherwise the date indicated on the diploma shall be taken into account;
  • The candidate must possess advanced proficiency in research methodologies - experimental synthesis techniques in organic and/or macromolecular chemistry, material characterization by physico-chemical methods (X-ray diffraction, XPS, NMR, MS, UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR);
  • Experience in developing systems for drug/gene delivery applications is required. Familiarity with inorganic nanoparticles, fullerene derivatives, and cyclodextrin is considered an advantage;
  • The candidate must possess skills in processing and presenting research findings;
  • The candidate should have prior experience in preparing drafts/manuscripts for publication in scientific journals and in writing national/international project proposals The applicant is required to have a minimum of 5 publications published in journals that have an ISI impact factor;
  • Intermediate knowledge of a foreign language, English mandatory, other international languages are an advantage;
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally;
  • Must possess motivation and creativity, along with advanced communication and teamwork abilities;
  • Practical knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel, Power Point) is required. Familiarity with ChemDraw, Origin, MestReNova, ChemSketch, ImageJ, ACD Spectrus Processor, Match and crystallographic databases is considered an advantage.

Eligibility criteria

General requirements for candidates:

  • The candidate must hold Romanian citizenship, citizenship of other European Union member states, or citizenship of states belonging to the European Economic Area, and must have residency in Romania;
  • The candidate must have proficiency in both written and spoken Romanian;
  • The candidate must also have proficiency in English, and in the case of foreign citizens, must provide a certificate of linguistic recognition for the Romanian language at the B2 level;
  • The candidate has full exercise capacity;
  • The candidate has a state of health corresponding to the position for which he/she is applying;
  • The candidate is medically fit;
  • The candidate is available for full-time employment for a fixed period.

Selection process

Research Assistant position 1(Member - doctoral student)

Analysis of the candidate's file and oral examination – presentation of the scientific activity of the candidates. Only candidates who have submitted all the necessary documents to register for the competition and meet the participation conditions are accepted to participate at the oral examination. The results of the selection of competition files are displayed with the mention “admitted” or “rejected”. The oral examination will take place at the ICMPP headquarters. Each member of the competition committee will give marks between 1 and 10 individually. The final grade represents the arithmetic mean of the marks given by each member of the committee. Ranking of candidates will be done according to the final average grade.

  • Laboratory preparation of various nanoformulations: metal/lipid nanoparticles, micelles, vesicles, liposomes, micro-/nanoemulsions, nanosuspensions
  • Characterization methods of nanoformulations
  • Separation/purification methods of chemical compounds: evaporation, filtration, centrifugation, column/thin layer chromatography, dialysis, liquid chromatography (LC)
  • Spectral techniques for substance characterization and applications: FTIR, UV-Vis, fluorimetry, mass spectrometry, NMR applicable to nanoformulations
  • Imaging evaluation methods of chemical products by using phantoms
  • Solutions and suspensions preparation for laboratory animals administration
  • Qualitative and quantitative control of suspensions and solutions
  • Maintenance and handling techniques of laboratory animals. Animal welfare in scientific research.
