Data Scientist

Artificial Intelligence Expert (AIE) is a fast-growing Romanian startup. At AIE, we transform Biomedical problems, like diagnosis, prognosis, and response to treatment monitoring and prediction, into Data Science ones and solve them with AI. As a result, Insight Care magazine selected us in the "Top 10 emerging companies solving cancer problems with AI".

We will soon start the OPADE EU project, where our role is to develop Intelligent Systems for depression treatment optimization using molecular, imaging, and signal data. We are opening new REMOTE job positions, e.g., Data Scientist.

The data scientist's roles and responsibilities include the following:

Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable data sources;

Using machine learning tools to select features and create and optimize classifiers/regressors;

Carrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data;

Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems;

Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis;

Analysing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions;

Developing prediction systems and machine learning algorithms;

Clearly presenting results;

Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges;

Collaborate with Business and IT teams.

Key skills needed:

Programming Skills – knowledge of programming languages like Python and R (optional; it is an advantage);

Bioinformatics knowledge (optional; it is an advantage);

Statistics – Good applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.;

Machine Learning – good knowledge of machine learning methods;

Data Wrangling – proficiency in handling imperfections in data;

Experience with Data Visualization Tools (optional; it is an advantage);

Excellent Communication Skills;

Software Engineering Background (optional; it is an advantage);

Hands-on experience with data science tools;

Problem-solving aptitude;

Analytical mind and great business sense;

A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field is preferred.

Proven Experience as Data Analyst or Data Scientist.
